When It Rains, It Pours!

When It Rains, It Pours!

So I know its been a long time since I’ve posted, but its with good reason. On top of my husband having all four wisdom teeth pulled, then needing follow up for two of them which didn’t heal, our entire family was sick.  And when I say sick I mean, worse then I’ve ever experienced…including college hangovers!  I thought that it could have been food poisoning since it came on so quickly and we all had eaten my chili (talk about guilt!) but then my Mother In Law and Grandma In Law were also sick the same night and they did not have my chili! This all started on Superbowl Sunday. Let me just tell you if you’ve never experienced being sick, while both your husband and child(ren) are – it is HARD. You have to be mom and be sick too. Hang in there, there is really no other advice I can over.

My older son, Funny, continued to get sick for about four days – only at night, once he had gone to bed.  The pediatrician explained that it was basically a shock to his tiny system and when he was calm and resting his intestines could do their job. He finished up being sick on Thursday night, only to have me wake up feeling awful on Saturday. I then went to the doctor to find out I had Strep throat – Ugh! And finally that Sunday evening, which was also Valentines Day, our heating system decided it wasn’t going to work properly and we needed a new part…….Of course, it’s much cheaper for the Gas company to come out to your house on a Sunday night of a holiday…NOT!

So enough already. We are all starting to feel better and I have only been, “out of work” and home with the kids for about 30 days.  What a way to get started.  There is lots more going on in my life too – all very emotional.  My very best friend in the world is moving to another state.  Her husband got an unbelievable job opportunity and they are going to give it a try. I know her and I will keep in close touch, but it will not be the same as calling her to meet up for a manicure or have her come over and play with the kids and I on a random Sunday afternoon.  Each time I talk about it, I get choked up with tears. I am really happy for her and I want her to welcome this opportunity with open arms, so I am trying to be nothing but supportive of her move. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball, now that I am finally feeling better, it is time for her to leave.

I am so glad to finally have our family feeling back to normal and am looking forward to get ourselves back on track.  We are looking forward to some warm weather and have had enough with the snow.  First plan of action is to plan a trip to visit my BF or as my kids call her “Auntie”!
